Dr. Richard Weimar is a native of Minnesota raised in, as he says with a smile, the vacation wonderland of Fridley. He attended the University of Minnesota from which he received his BA degree in 1978 and his DDS degree in 1983. He opened his practice the following year and has provided exceptional dental care to the Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park communities for over 30 years. He holds memberships in the Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantology, and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He is accomplished in almost all phases of dentistry, with his mission to create a dental office where patients can receive almost all procedures in one office. He seeks to minimize the number of times patients are sent to specialty offices for treatment, thereby creating smoother, more efficient treatment for patients with complicated dental issues.

He has been certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support since 2004.
Dr. Richard Weimar has been treating anxious and fearful patients with conscious sedation since 1999, after his training as a member of the Dental Organization for Conscious sedation. In July 2001, Dr. Richard Weimar completed advanced training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York for Patient Management with IV and Oral Conscious Sedation. Dr. Richard Weimar caters to the unique needs of patients with stress and anxiety over dental care. He has completed over 2500 sedation procedures to help high anxiety patients. Sedation dentistry has proven to be a miracle for those who have avoided the dentist for years, with years of problems treated in one appointment.
In 2003, Dr. Richard Weimar expanded his practice to include esthetic implant dentistry, and has placed 2000 implants since that time. He has received advanced implant and bone regeneration training at the world renowned Pikos Institute and Fugazzotto Institute. Dr. Richard Weimar is one of Minnesota’s leaders in the use of CEREC one visit crown technology, and is one of the most senior CEREC practitioners in the world having practiced CEREC dentistry for over 20 years. He has been a featured expert on CEREC restorations for Channel 5 and 11, as well as radio 1570. He is a past president of the Minnesota Association for Computer Dentistry. Dr. Richard Weimar is also accomplished in cosmetic procedures and has placed thousands of porcelain veneers. He has received advanced training in ceramics and has an artist’s eye for creating beautiful smiles and restorations, with either restorations made by a laboratory and handmade by himself.
Dr. Richard Weimar is driven by his personal and practice philosophy of getting the best diagnostic evidence to give his patients an accurate analysis of their problems, giving multiple treatments with pros and cons of each and his honest appraisal, and letting the patients make their own decision on what will be best for them.
