Dr. Rachael Simon is from Northern Virginia and has settled in Howard County with her family. She has been practicing pediatric dentistry since completing her post- graduate degree in 2000. Dr Simon received her dental degree in 1998 from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland at Baltimore. She was a member of the Gorgas Odontological Honor Society and received the Leonard Rapport Memorial Award for excellence in dental pharmacology. After completing dental school she entered an advanced pediatric dental training program at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where she earned her certificate in pediatric dentistry. During her training she was on staff at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Kernan Hospital.
Dr Simon’s goal is to promote oral health care throughout the community. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is the past president of the Carroll County Dental Society. She has served as the president of the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Simon is currently serving as a member of The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Council on Clinical Affairs. She has volunteered her time as a trainer for the Mid-Atlantic P.A.N.D.A. program. As a part of this program, Dr. Simon lectures to local dentists on how to recognize neglect and child abuse in the dental setting. She is a member of the medical staff at Kernan Hospital.
Dr. Simon is married to her loving husband David. They have two wonderful daughters, Sydney and Joanna. Her interests include playing soccer, traveling, watching Baltimore sports teams and spending time with her family and her 2 dogs.
