Dr. Knudsen was born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on the shores of Lake Michigan. After graduating from Escanaba Senior High, he attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to study Cellular Biology with the ultimate goal of going on to dental school. During his undergraduate studies, he worked in a research lab studying bone regeneration in cancer patients, as well as working in the Oral Pathology department to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer patients.
Dr. Knudsen went on to study dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 2024 where he spent three months of his final year working in Federally Qualified Health Centers with underserved populations across the state. He was active as a member of the American Student Dental Association, a student consultant for the Michigan Dental Association Committee on Peer Review, as well as with the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. Dr. Knudsen strives to provide the best care possible for his patients and prides himself in staying up to date with the cutting edge of dental research along with the rest of the team at Abingdon Smiles.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Knudsen enjoys cheering on the Michigan Wolverines in Football, Hockey and Basketball, as well as spending time outdoors hiking and exploring the lakes and mountains of Southwest Virginia.
