She then returned home to Houston and elected to complete an additional two years of clinical and didactic training at the University of Texas School Of Dentistry in Houston.
The first residency was in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in restorative/cosmetic dentistry. The second residency, a General Practice Residency, was hospital based at Memorial Hermann Hospital of the Tx Medical Center. The two years were spent training for complex dental techniques, and in the management of medically complex patients. Techniques for crown and bridge work were emphasized and the restoration of dental implants. Treatment of intellectually disabled patients, significant cardiac/organ transplant concerns, as well as many other complex medical issues were significant portions of her training. Dr. Mary George is still involved in both of those programs, but now as a professor, supervising clinical care. She is an Assistant Professor at UT Houston School of Dentistry. She also served as the Post Graduate Clinical Director of both General Dental Residency Programs (AEGD & GPR) before choosing to dedicate more of her time in private practice. She has been practicing for over 10 years. When she is out of the office, she enjoys all the time she can spend with her childrenand husband!
