I could not be more passionate about being a dentist; I find the field of dentistry fascinating and the process of patient care invigorating. But, I took the most unlikely of paths to practice as a dentist. I achieved my undergraduate degree at one of America’s top undergraduate business schools and took a job managing stock, turnover, and profitability for a major retailer. It did not take me long to realize that my interests lie elsewhere, and I serendipitously turned to dental sales. While I enjoyed my sales roles, over the years I realised that it was not the sales but the dentistry that was my true passion. Over two years of nights and weekends I achieved half of an undergraduate science degree in order to apply to dental school. Attending the University of Melbourne Dental School marked but one important step in my life-long commitment to continually growing my skillset.
While my career has changed directions, my time as a professional sales person has contributed dramatically to my practicing philosophy. It taught me that high quality service, genuine empathy and honesty, and a fun-loving approach are all essential to optimal patient outcomes. I wish everyone could love their job as much as I do. I believe it is the passion that I bring, above all else, that positions me to affordably and effectively treat you and those you love most. I believe dentistry is a good thing and that we should love our teeth.
