I have known and worked with Dr Safa for over 10 years, and watched as he progressed from medical student to resident surgeon to attending surgeon. He is the consummate Plastic Surgeon, complete in every detail. He is a highly skilled and accomplished surgeon, and has developed into an outstanding microsurgeon at one of the premier microsurgery groups in the world. I can recommend him without reservation.

I have know Dr. Safa for over 9 years, and have always been impressed by him as a person, student, physician, and now leader. To borrow some lines from my recommendation letter in the year 2000, where I supported his joining the Stanford Plastic Surgery Program: “I had extended contact with him in both professional and social circumstances and found him to be a truly well rounded individual. Throughout our interactions, I found him to be self motivated, insightful, and hard working… His personality was agreeable with all of the patients and hospital staff, making him a pleasure to work with. For his level of training, Bauback’s fund of knowledge was extensive. In my opinion, Dr. Safa is an excellent physician and will easily succeed in any field he chooses. I am glad he has decided on plastic surgery and would be happy to have him as a junior resident in the Stanford Plastics program. He is definitely the strongest medical student that I have worked with on any rotation.
