Dr. Ashley Watson-Doster always wanted a career in healthcare and it was her chiropractor, Dr. Bo Brooks, who influenced her to pursue a career in chiropractic. While she was completing her undergraduate degree, he gave her an opportunity to learn more about the profession when he offered her a job as a Chiropractic Assistant. During her two years as an assistant, she was amazed with the patients’ stories. Many of their stories were just like hers; when nothing else worked, chiropractic did.
As a result of personal experience and the encouragement of Dr. Michelle Jobert,
Dr. Watson-Doster decided to expand her practice to include animals. Dr. Jobert is a holistic veterinarian that treated Dr. Watson-Doster’s family dogs. Dr. Watson-Doster’s older Yellow Labrador, Sobe, was diagnosed with diabetes at age 6. The traditional veterinarian expected Sobe to live no more than 2 years with the condition. Dr. Jobert started treating Sobe for a musculoskeletal condition right before he turned 8 and from there she became an integral part in his overall health. Sobe passed away at age 12 and it was the integration of alternative care with traditional care that kept him running and playing with the younger dog, Jackson, up until his last days. Dr. Watson-Doster offers animal joint alignment for dogs and cats as an adjunct to traditional veterinarian care. Dr. Watson-Doster is NOT a veterinarian.
