Dr. Ritu Walia, is a board certified in Pediatrics and specializes in the field of pediatric gastroenterology. Dr. Walia, attended Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, where she received her medical degree. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Brooklyn Hospital Center and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, in pediatric gastroenterology. She has also served as the chief of pediatric gastroenterology at the west Virginia university. Prior to moving to Georgia, Dr. Walia, served as an associated professor at the university of Central Florida. She is board certified in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology.

Her commitment to medical education and patient care is exemplified by the numerous accolades she has to her name. She has authored numerous articles published in different journals in her field of specialization and has also given several presentations at professional society meetings both nationally and internationally. She is also the editor of several journals of clinical significance. She has a special interest in fecal transplants, for the treatment of recurrent C. difficile infections in children and has received several awards for her work in this field. She can speak several languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati. She is currently also learning Spanish.

Her interests include acid reflux, inflammatory bowel diseases, abdominal pain, chronic constipation, motility disorders in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome

Throughout her education and medical training, Dr. Walia has been passionate about advocacy and volunteer work for her community. She has volunteered her time supporting children at the national institute of the blind, the humane society and also received the prestigious honorary American citizen award for her commitment to woman undergoing domestic abuse. She was awarded by the American Health Council ‘as Best Doctor 2018’.

When not taking care of patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son and two dogs.
