Dr. Mariela Padro, MD

Dr. Padro was born in Florida and raised in Puerto Rico. She is the third generation of behavioral health professionals in her family. Proficient in Spanish and English, she has an extensive experience in psychiatric care for patients from multicultural backgrounds and treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions in the adult population. Dr. Padro received her undergraduate degree from University of Puerto Rico and her Medical Degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. She completed her Psychiatry Residency Program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where she served as a Chief Resident. She also completed a Fellowship of Psychoanalysis in New York University. Dr Padro is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist holding a full unrestricted Florida medical license. In New York, she worked for Mount Sinai Hospital Outpatient Community Health Clinic as an Attending Psychiatrist. Also worked in Long Island College Hospital in the Psychiatric ER, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and in the Consultation-Liaison Service providing comprehensive psychiatric consultations to the medical ER and Inpatient units. Dr. Padro was part of an established group psychiatric practice in Staten Island, NY for 3 years and is currently practicing at her private practice in Miami, Florida
