“I started getting interested in the field of dentistry back in high school because I wore braces and the experience piqued my interest in orthodontics. Then in high school I attended a Career Day lecture by a periodontist and this was a life-changing experience. When I began college, I went directly to pre-dental. When I started doing my rotations, in which I was exposed to a series of dental specialties, I discovered I loved doing periodontal work.

“I found the field extremely interesting. I even read an entire periodontics textbook in one night because it so captured my attention. As fate would have it, I went through my periodontal residency with my future partner, Dr. del Amo.

“Becoming a periodontist was the right decision for me. I love waking up in the morning and being glad to go to work. I enjoy the dental challenges I see every day in the office, and I’m encouraged by the success stories of my patients.

“I like consulting with referring dentists to improve the form and function of our mutual patient’s smile, and I appreciate the gratification that helping people like yourself brings to my life. I’m committed to periodontics excellence and in doing what’s right for patients. I consider my patients as part of my extended family and will treat you as such when you are under my care.”
