Dr. Homayoun Sasson, MD, FACS

Among the handful of surgeons worldwide with dual plastic surgery and surgical oncology training, Dr. Sasson is as adept at reconstructive procedures for cancer and trauma patients as he is at rejuvenating appearances with advanced cosmetic techniques.

The board-certified plastic surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed residencies in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious Yale University Hospital. Dr. Sasson honed surgical oncology expertise at UCLA’s John Wayne Cancer Institute, and in hand and microsurgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

A prolific researcher and lecturer, the 20-year industry veteran was recognized by Northwell Health as Teaching Consultant of the Year and is Chief of Plastic Surgery at two of the system’s hospitals. The multi-year Castle Connolly Top Doctors honoree trains next-generation specialists: Northwell residents and Hofstra medical students.

A Yale University Hospital best research award recipient (1996), Dr. Sasson sponsors the annual Sasson Plastic Surgery Award for eligible residents. He volunteers his time and talent to treat patients with severe reconstructive needs in third-world countries, and serves as the NYC Police Department’s honorary police surgeon.
