Dr. Giraldo and her husband support Charitable Foundation Programs around the world such as Smile Train which helps poor children with cleft lips enabling them to receive surgery; Children International a nonprofit humanitarian organization that helps children overcome the poverty to become healthy, educated and self-sustaining and contributing members of society; Special Olympics Texas foundation provides sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, and Hogar Niña María a program in her native country Colombia that helps abandoned and abused children.

supports the Archdiocesan Food Bank of Bogota, which, under the direction of Father Daniel Saldarriaga, provides food to low-income families in the city of Bogota, Colombia.

Dr. Giraldo enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to travel to the beach and swim on sunny days.
