She earned her medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California, where she was awarded the Humanism in Medicine Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation.
She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she was also the Chief Resident. Dr. Chang was awarded the prestigious Kennamer Fellowship at UCLA following her residency.
