About
Dr. Darrel J. Gilbert grew up in Rockaway, NY. He attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan NY and graduated from North Miami High School. He is a graduate of Emory University College in 1976 majoring in Chemistry. He attended Emory University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1981. Upon graduation, Dr. Gilbert was a part time teacher at Emory Dental School and opened a private practice in Sandy Springs.
For over 40 years Dr. Gilbert has focused on Restorative Dentistry and has built a successful practice with an emphasis on creating relationships with patients, listening to everyone’s individual wants, needs, and their budget. He has always said, “I am in the people business and also happen to do dentistry as well.” He enjoys all aspects of restorative dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, crowns, bridges, porcelain veneers and implants. He also provides Botox and dermal fillers used for pain elimination, TMJ issues, and facial proportions.
He has attended world renowned graduate dental programs including The Pankey Institute in Miami, Florida, The Nash Institute in Charlotte, NC, as well as The Kois Center in Seattle Washington. He has been in private practice in Sandy Springs since 1985.
He is married to Wendy Katz, an Orthodontist, and resides in Sandy Springs. Together, they have two married boys and one grandchild. Now working part-time, his hobbies include fishing, hiking, golf and worldwide travel.
