Danón Garrido, MD, is a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon who specializes in providing advanced and comprehensive preventive and interventional care for patients who are dealing with any type of vein or artery condition. As one of the lead physicians at Advanced Vascular & Vein Associates, the first outpatient-based vascular practice in Central Mississippi, Dr. Garrido serves patients from communities in and around Flowood, Mississippi, including the Greater Jackson metropolitan area. Dr. Garrido believes that all successful treatment practices rely on patient-centered care that’s built on attentive listening, a strong doctor-patient relationship, and mutual trust. He’s pleased to serve a population that hasn’t had ready access to advanced, life-saving vascular care in the past. A co-founder of Advanced Vascular & Vein Associates, Dr. Garrido specializes in minimally invasive artery and vein interventions, with a focus on same-day interventions like carotid endarterectomy surgery or angioplasty and stenting. His other areas of expertise include peripheral artery disease (PAD), chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), dialysis access creation and maintenance, diabetic wound care, and amputation prevention. Dr. Garrido earned his doctorate degree at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. After performing his general surgery residency at the University of Miami/JFK Medical Center in Miami, Florida, he completed his fellowship training at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Garrido previously was in academic surgery as a full-time faculty member of the University of Mississippi Medical Center General Surgery Department in Jackson, Mississippi.
